Extracto de El valioso tiempo de los maduros.

Me encantó esta parte del poema porque me siento identificada.

Ya no tengo tiempo
para soportar absurdas personas
que, a pesar de su edad cronológica,
no han crecido.

Speaking about the future...

In English, there are different ways to express the future depending on the certainty or attitude we have aboute the future events. The following mind map might give you a clearer idea about this.
 Visit the site: http://www.grammarmindmaps.com/future-tense/

What do you think about the mind map? It is easier, isn´t it?...

About the future...

Lately, I have been thinking about the future. What will happen to me? Will I be happy? Will I get married again? Sincerely, I don´t know because I believe our future is in hands of God and whatever happens to me is his plan for me. However, we are aways trying to guess or worrying about our destiny. Looking for information about the future, I found a some poems about it in American English. This is a site where you will find different resources for learners like: texts, pdf´s, games, mp3, etc.

The one I liked the most is:

About My Future…
My future, I think, will be happy.
My future, I think, will be good.
I will be strong, clever and healthy.
And I will not be staying along!
I will stop up the aggression,
I will build up myself,
I will destroy the pressure,
I will grow my own respect!
by Zharkyn and Rakhim from Kazakhstan

Please share in the coments:

1. What do you think about the poem?
2. What is the poem about?
3. What do the authors think about the future?
4.Write at least 7 ideas you have about your future similar to the ones written in the poem.
5. Why don´t you write a poem on your own? Use the ideas above.

Imperatives

What do these signs mean?

You might have seen these signs and many more on the streets. These signs are some real life examples of the use of imperatives. Do you want to know what else can you do with the imperatives in English? Well, take a look at the following presentation and find out!

I don´t know how to cook!

One of the things I regret the most about my life is the fact that I never learned how to cook. Now that I´m a mother, I remember all the different occasions in which my mom asked me to pay attention to her cooking. It was a bother and I didn´t want to be involved in anything related to the kitchen. My cooking experiences go as far as preparing a sandwich.

My resolutions this year (and almost every year since then) is to learn how to cook. I started looking for cooking classes, but my schedule is so tight that I expected to find one at midnight; unfortunately, nobody was available. Suddenly, I thought about creating a blog for asking and sharing cooking tips. So why don´t you give me some ideas or easy recipes you love? And I’ll give you mine.

I am going to give you an easy and healthy idea for breakfast, especially if you are in a hurry all the time.  You can do it the night before and enjoy it in the morning.
Oatmeal

Ingredients:
5 or 6 tbs of oatmeal.
1 cup of almond milk (vanilla or chocolate)
1 tbs of honey
Some raisins, peanuts, nuts, almonds, and cranberries.

1. Pour the almond milk into a bowl.

2. Add the oatmeal.

3. Add the raisins, nuts, and so on.

4. Mix everything

5. Place in the fridge overnight.

6. Enjoy it in the morning!

Please share your recipes in the comments and I will follow them to the letter and tell you (in the next posts) how well they went.
